Amber was born in Van Wert, Ohio in 1976. She was raised on a small farm in Monroe, Indiana nearby her maternal grandparents.
Her imagination kept Amber busy and all the cats on the farm helped. She spent a lot of time with the farm cats. Growing up,
cats had always been her favorite pet.
Amber didn't have very many friends growing up so she made up friends who she could talk to
and play with. These "people" later became the characters in her books. Once she began writing, Amber no longer needed those
friends and she began to create worlds of her own where she was able to "act out" adventures and be able to talk to others
in her mind.

Amber knew she wanted to be a writer when she was only 11 years old. She knew she could tell good stories so she tried
writing them down as well and became addicted to telling her stories in that form. She shared her stories with as many people
as she could and took all criticism patiently. Some were good and some were bad. Amber learned and kept on writing.
Amber moved from Monroe, to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1992 where she joined a volleyball team as a manager, and started
writing for the school newspaper. Her senior year, Amber took a writing class to improve her ability to write and began writing
poetry.
Amber graduated from North Side High School in 1994. She joined the National Guard and went to basic training in August
where she met a lot of interesting people. She realized the army wasn't made for her and was able to get out after being in
for five weeks of her training. Amber was the only female in her family to even attempt the army and had gained the respect
from all the men in her family for just trying. Amber also gained respect for herself because it wasn't an easy task to be
in the army.

In 1996 Amber married her true love after knowing him a short while. Together, they had three beautiful children, two
girls and one boy. This new chapter in Amber's life opened the idea for writing for children as well. Now she could truly
write for anyone.
In 2004, Amber moved to Indianapolis with her husband. This is where her writing really picked up. Amber found one idea
after another, some of which she hid away while others she used in her stories. Two years later, Amber was still trying to
get her ideas in order. She has a long list of them waiting to become books.

Here is Amber at 30 in December 2006
In 2006 Amber and her husband moved to Muncie because of a job transfer. Amber continued to write at any given chance
she had. More ideas popped into her head including ones from her dreams. She seems excited about all her stories and can't
wait for people to read them, including all the friends she made over the years.
