On Amber's book, Mysteries of The Peterson Estate. In search of a publisher right now.

Question: Where do you get the names for the characters?

Amber: From people around me mostly. Emily was a good friend of mine so I thought she was the best person to name my most important character.

Question: The characteristics of the people in your story--where do they come from?

Amber: There is a little of me in each character. With Emily, I added a little of what I would like to be in myself also. In order to make my characters seem real, I had to use someone I know really well. I know myself the best so I dug deep within myself and looked for traits to use in each character. From there, I took relationships I know and used them in the characters' lives.

Question: The book Mysteries of the Peterson Estate, how far will you take the series?

Amber: I'm not sure at this time but I don't want to disappoint my fans by having a short series. As long as my imagination will allow, I will let the series continue to grow.

Question: If you had to choose, who would be your favorite character and why?

Amber: I would have to say Emily Peterson. She is the one who is most like me and the one that's the most not like me at the same time. She has characteristics that's similar to mine but also things I would like to have in my personality. She isn't afraid to try things and even though she is forgiving, it doesn't bite her in the rear. If she was a real person, I would love to have her as a friend.

Question: You decided to rewrite this story. Any comment on that?

Amber: It had been rejected after a publisher asked me to make some minor changes to the story. It was a couple months later when Stolen Identity was published and I started thinking. I wanted to use the same name for all my books and I didn't want to give up this story so I thought maybe I should bring up the age group a bit on this book series. So far, the rewrite is going well. I've managed to add more things to the story that would have given children nightmares. Adults are better equiped to handle some of the things I written in this story. I stand by my choice 100% now.
